Assistant Manager, Internal Audit

About the role

The Internal Audit team seeks an Assistant Manager to lead audit engagements, ensure compliance with industry best practices, and add value to the organisation's operations. You will plan, execute, and report on risk‑based audits while collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead internal audit projects in line with the risk‑based Audit Plan.
• Design, test, and evaluate controls, and document findings in audit reports.
• Follow up on remediation actions to ensure timely resolution.
• Assess internal control design, operating effectiveness, and adherence to sales advisory processes.
• Communicate root causes, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
• Build strong relationships with 1st and 2nd line of defence to identify emerging risks.
• Manage third‑party audit support resources when required.
• Participate in major business initiatives and advise on change management.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Business, Finance or a recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA).
• Minimum 5 years of audit experience, preferably in financial services (sales advisory, insurance, investment).
• Experience with internal or external audits and data‑analytics techniques.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit methodologies, agile auditing, risk and control frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage senior management.
• Analytical thinker, detail‑oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
