Assistant Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Assistant Operations Supervisor supports the delivery of safe and efficient portering and transport services within a hospital environment. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will help coordinate patient transfers, equipment movement and other logistical tasks while maintaining a professional image.

Key responsibilities

• Project a professional image at all times.
• Assist with directional knowledge of common places in SGH and NCCS.
• Follow work‑process flows for portering assignments and handle case notes accurately.
• Answer transport services phone calls and prepare portering & transport request forms.
• Use the nursing ePorter system to create tasks, book ambulance transport and assign errands to porters.
• Deliver quality portering services for patients, medical records, specimens, equipment, medication and blood products.
• Provide wheelchair/trolley assistance and ensure proper patient transfer techniques.
• Manage telephone hotlines, receive user requests and allocate tasks to staff.
• Report faults in the ePorter system and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Maintain tidiness of the workplace and monitor Health, Safety & Environmental procedures.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
