Associate AI Engineer / Data Scientist

About the role

Join PwC's Financial Services Assurance Digital Innovation Garage as an Associate AI Engineer / Data Scientist. You will help design, build, and support data‑driven analytics and AI‑enabled automation solutions that address audit and assurance challenges for leading financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and audit problems into data‑centric use cases and develop prototypes.
• Extract, cleanse, transform, validate, and explore datasets to support internal innovation projects.
• Develop, test, and maintain machine‑learning and AI‑assisted automation solutions using Python, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, Alteryx, or similar tools.
• Support feature engineering, model evaluation, prompt engineering, and retrieval‑augmented generation concepts, especially for large language models.
• Collaborate with audit, risk, technology, and innovation teams to turn ideas into proof‑of‑concepts or production‑ready components.
• Document assumptions, data handling steps, testing results, limitations, and user guidance clearly.
• Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders while upholding ethics, data protection, and responsible AI principles.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or AI engineering.
• Strong analytical mindset with curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work on ambiguous problems and bring structure to unstructured data.
