Associate Director, Project Management - Preconstruction (Data Centre)

About the role

Turner & Townsend is hiring an Associate Director, Project Management - Preconstruction for data centre projects in Singapore. The role leads planning and development from early feasibility and design through procurement, award and transition into construction, setting scope, budget, programme, procurement strategy and risk framework before execution. It works closely with clients, consultants, designers, cost managers, contractors and internal stakeholders to improve constructability, commercial outcomes and project readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction from feasibility, concept and design through tender, contractor appointment and construction mobilisation, and set project execution strategies.
• Lead constructability and design reviews, identify scope gaps and delivery risks, and ensure a structured handover to the construction team.
• Provide senior management with clear reporting on project status, key decisions, risks and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate architects, engineers and consultants during design, track design decisions and changes, and facilitate design reviews.
• Establish and challenge master programmes, identify critical-path activities and long-lead procurement needs, and lead risk reviews with escalation of material, design, programme and delivery risks.
• Act as senior point of contact for clients, lead project workshops and manage expectations across clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams.
• Mentor Project Managers, set governance, quality and reporting standards, allocate resources and contribute to continuous improvement of preconstruction processes.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant project or construction management experience, with significant exposure to preconstruction and progressively senior leadership roles.
• Strong experience managing projects from early design through procurement and mobilisation/construction.
• Demonstrated experience in design management, cost planning, procurement, tendering, programme management and project risk.
• Experience managing complex projects and multidisciplinary consultant/contractor teams.
• Strong client-facing and senior stakeholder management experience.
