Automation Engineer

About the role

The Automation Engineer ensures the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of warehouse automation and robotics systems. You will provide technical support, develop maintenance strategies, manage supplier relationships and help build technical capabilities within operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for warehouse automation systems, including troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and vendor escalation.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programmes, manage spare‑parts planning and support equipment lifecycle upgrades.
• Identify and lead optimisation projects to improve automation performance, productivity and scalability.
• Create training materials, conduct technical training and build first‑level troubleshooting capabilities for operations staff.
• Maintain engineering documentation and knowledge repositories.

Required profile

• Degree or Master’s in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Automation or Supply Chain.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automation, robotics or industrial engineering.
• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Experience with automated warehouse or manufacturing systems, including Goods‑to‑Person, AMRs/AGVs, conveyor and sortation equipment.
• Knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, root‑cause analysis and preventive maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
