Business Controller – Strategic Finance & M&A

About the role

The Business Controller will report to the CFO and act as a strategic finance partner, driving the Group’s M&A, investment evaluation and performance management agenda. The role combines rigorous financial analysis with governance oversight to support major commercial initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the CFO in assessing M&A opportunities, joint ventures, partnerships and new business models.
• Conduct financial due diligence, build and review financial models, valuation analyses, business cases and scenario assessments.
• Prepare investment papers, management presentations and Board documentation for major transactions.
• Provide financial challenge and recommendations on commercial decisions, ensuring investment discipline.
• Oversee finance‑related governance, including approval paper reviews, delegation limits, control gap analysis and policy compliance.
• Coordinate with internal auditors on audit reviews, remediation plans and follow‑up actions.
• Manage treasury aspects of strategic investments, such as cash‑flow impact, funding needs and banking relationships.
• Develop organisational capability in business case preparation, modelling, governance and post‑investment review.
• Support ad‑hoc strategic projects and transformation initiatives as required by the CFO.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate finance, M&A, transaction advisory, investment evaluation or related fields.
• Prior experience in valuation, financial due diligence, corporate development or Big 4 advisory is advantageous.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to link financial analysis to commercial strategy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
