Buyer/Planner 3

About the role

Join KLA as a Buyer/Planner 3 to manage the procurement of direct materials, components, and equipment supporting our semiconductor manufacturing operations. You will ensure timely material availability, drive cost improvements, and collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase direct materials, components and equipment based on MRP or reorder point systems.
• Review planning reports to guarantee material availability for production.
• Negotiate pricing, rework costs and expedite reductions to improve gross margin.
• Reduce material lead times through supplier cycle‑time improvements, hedging and VMI programs.
• Execute purchase orders promptly and resolve supplier quality, capacity or material issues.
• Communicate delivery schedules with suppliers and drive on‑time delivery performance.
• Participate in supplier business reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage claims, ECN/ECO changes and ensure production is not impacted.
• Collaborate with inventory analysts to minimize excess inventory and improve inventory turns.
• Conduct quarterly safety‑stock reviews to balance supply and inventory efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in buying and production planning, preferably in a low‑volume high‑mix manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) is advantageous.
