Clinical Skills Trainer

About the role

The Clinical Skills Trainer is responsible for delivering and overseeing practical medical training for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) programme at the SAF Medical Training Institute. You will play a key part in preparing future medical vocationalists with up‑to‑date clinical competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise clinical and practical training for the EMT course.
• Deliver primary healthcare skills training across all SMTI courses.
• Provide currency training for medical vocationalists to keep skills current.
• Update and maintain lesson plans in line with the latest medical practices.
• Coordinate and administer medic proficiency testing.
• Plan and execute annual emergency medical response assessments.
• Evaluate medical centre operations and propose improvements.

Required profile

• Education in Healthcare, Nursing or a related field (preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare or nursing environment (preferred, but applicants without experience may apply).
• Background in medical training or education is advantageous.
• Strong interest in teaching and excellent interpersonal communication.
• Organisational, analytical and detail‑oriented mindset.
• Self‑motivated, independent work style with adaptability to change.
