Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Engineer to administer, monitor and optimise enterprise backup and recovery platforms. The role involves ensuring high availability, troubleshooting failures, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams to continuously improve data protection services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), Avamar and other backup platforms to maintain high‑availability backup operations.
• Troubleshoot end‑to‑end backup failures, restore requests and infrastructure issues across servers, storage and network components.
• Diagnose data paths, verify Data Domain appliance health, storage performance and network connectivity.
• Deploy, configure and maintain backup solutions for physical servers, virtual machines, NAS workloads and Kubernetes environments.
• Coordinate with technology vendors and internal engineering teams for incident resolution, root‑cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Support infrastructure changes including patching, upgrades, capacity planning and technology refresh initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles and system configurations.
• Participate in incident, problem and change management following ITIL best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with Dell NetWorker, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Cohesity, Rubrik, Dell PPDM or Avamar.
• Familiarity with storage infrastructure such as Data Domain appliances, SAN, Dell PowerStore and Isilon.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware vSphere, VCF, AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
• Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, switches and storage connectivity.
