Commercial Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial and contractual side of construction projects, ensuring profitability while controlling risks. You will work closely with project teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Prepare, evaluate, negotiate and manage variation orders and contractual changes.
• Handle contractual claims, including extensions of time, loss and expense, and other commercial claims.
• Produce regular commercial reports covering profitability, cost status, contract performance and risk assessments.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow and financial performance.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, finance and site teams to support successful delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 6–10 years of commercial or contract management experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts (e.g., SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC, NEC).
• Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, commercial reporting and financial analysis.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
