Cost Manager (Contracts & Claims Management)

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Manager with 4-5 years of experience in contract administration, commercial management and claims management within construction, infrastructure, energy or industrial projects. The role supports project delivery teams in managing project costs, administering contracts, assessing contractor claims and protecting the organisation's commercial interests. A strong understanding of FIDIC contracts is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs, budgets, forecasts and commitments throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review payment applications, progress claims and cost reports for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Support cost forecasting, cash flow management and commercial reporting.
• Assist in preparing and evaluating variations, change orders and compensation events.
• Administer project contracts, maintain contractual records and advise stakeholders on contract provisions and risks.
• Manage contractor notices of claim, assess claims for extension of time, additional costs and variations, and draft responses and reservation of rights letters.
• Develop templates and standard responses for claims, support dispute resolution and advise on FIDIC requirements.
• Work with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, legal counsel and contractors on commercial matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in cost management, quantity surveying, commercial management or contract administration.
• Proven track record in contract administration within construction, infrastructure, energy, EPC or industrial projects.
• Experience managing contractor claims, variations, contract correspondence and commercial risks.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts (Red Book, Yellow Book, Silver Book).
• Claims management, EOT assessment, variations and contract risk management.
• Familiarity with project cost control, budgeting and forecasting.
• Proficiency in contract documentation and commercial reporting.
