About the role

The PrepVax Office is a national pandemic preparedness programme that draws on vaccine development capabilities across the public and private sectors, through vaccine development projects, technology platform exploration and clinical trial efforts. It suits someone who can manage many priorities and stakeholders at once.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of PrepVax's work, together with the Director and incumbent Deputy Director, on vaccine development, clinical trials and people development programmes.
  • Coordinate activities with collaborators, funding agencies, regulators, academia and biomedical industry partners, locally and overseas.
  • Guide the team on administrative activities from Finance to Secretariat, including coordinating multiple parties, preparing and vetting meeting agendas and presentations, taking minutes, and monitoring and processing invoices, claims and procurement.
  • Carry out any other projects or tasks assigned.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or related discipline (regulatory, manufacturing, public health, microbiology, epidemiology, biostatistics, biomedical or chemical sciences); postgraduate degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience, ideally in research, healthcare or public health.
  • 5 years of independent project management and 5 years of managing people and project teams.
  • Experience overseeing research budgets and finance; experience managing NMRC-awarded grants is advantageous.
  • Experience running vaccine development projects is a plus; expertise in CMC or clinical trials is advantageous.

Required skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to give clear guidance to a team and work in a fast-paced, fluid environment with colleagues at all levels.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, independent and organised.
