Design Manager

About the role

The Design Manager leads the façade design team, ensuring all design outputs meet project standards, specifications, and scope. This role acts as the central hub for coordination between designers, consultants, contractors, and the site team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design team in delivering façade design work and related drawings.
• Verify that all deliverables comply with required standards and specifications.
• Identify and flag additional work or variations for the Project Manager and Contract Manager.
• Coordinate with consultants, the main contractor, and other subcontractors to ensure seamless integration.
• Assist the site team in resolving clashes and interface issues.
• Participate in workshops, review shop drawings for constructability, sequencing, and quality.
• Manage design change processes to minimise schedule delays and cost impacts.
• Resolve unforeseen interface problems throughout all design phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a design team in construction or façade projects.
• Strong understanding of construction documentation, standards, and variation management.
• Excellent coordination skills with consultants, contractors, and site teams.
• Ability to manage design changes while protecting project timelines and budgets.
