Director, Global Materials Planning

About the role

The Director, Global Materials Planning leads the development and execution of a worldwide material strategy that supports production growth and operational efficiency. This senior leader ensures material supply aligns with global demand plans, drives supplier collaboration, and minimizes risk and waste across all manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a global material strategy aligned with business goals and product lifecycles.
• Lead material planning processes across multiple sites, translating supply plans into capacity and inventory strategies.
• Manage seasonal and monthly execution routines, handling exceptions, shortages, and expediting actions.
• Collaborate with sourcing and supply planning teams to mitigate risks and develop scenario‑based response plans.
• Standardize and optimize planning processes, eliminating non‑value‑added activities and streamlining end‑to‑end workflows.
• Evaluate, select, and implement planning tools and automation technologies.
• Define roles, responsibilities, and organizational structure for the global planning team.
• Allocate resources across regions and drive training programs to build planning expertise.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in global material or supply chain planning.
• Strong track record of developing and executing strategic plans that support large‑scale manufacturing.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills with suppliers, sourcing, and operations.
• Ability to analyze data, assess risks, and make data‑driven decisions.
• Experience designing and scaling planning processes and tools.
