Facilities Technician

About the role

The Facilities Technician will support daily operations of the plant, ensuring that all mechanical and electrical equipment and building services remain functional and well‑maintained. You will act as the first line of response for internal facility issues and coordinate with service contractors to keep the environment safe and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine checks, data logging and preventive maintenance of M&E systems such as air‑conditioning, chillers, pumps, CDA, FMCS, fire protection and utilities.
• Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, and manage the Building Management System (FMCS) to monitor all services.
• Coordinate and inspect work carried out by external service contractors and sub‑contractors.
• Respond promptly to internal customer feedback, defect reports and breakdowns, including after‑hours, weekend and public‑holiday standby duties.
• Maintain spare‑parts inventory, manuals, as‑built drawings and other documentation as assigned.
• Participate in facility improvement projects and adhere to the scheduled maintenance plan.

Required profile

• Diploma or Nitec2/NTC2 in Electrical, Mechanical, Air‑conditioning or Building Services.
• At least 1 year of relevant maintenance experience.
• Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts and follow safety procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to interact with workshop staff at all levels.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of electrical systems.
• Technical knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Air‑conditioning and ACMV expertise.
• Experience with building services and FMCS (Building Management System).
