Financial Controller

About the role

The Ministry of Housing Pte. Ltd (MES Group) is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function for its group of companies operating in Singapore and Malaysia. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will combine strong financial control with strategic business partnering to support senior management and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end finance operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Review and advise on statutory and management accounts in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Manage audits, tax filings and liaison with regulators, auditors and external advisors.
• Provide strategic financial analysis, modelling and insights to support business growth and investment decisions.
• Oversee financial aspects of the group portfolio, including valuations and structuring advice.
• Strengthen internal controls, governance and risk‑management frameworks.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team while driving process and system improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA or ACCA.
• 8–12 years of finance experience with senior leadership exposure in asset management, real estate or investment‑related businesses.
• Hands‑on experience with Singapore and Malaysian audits and regulatory filings.
• Strong commercial mindset and board‑level communication skills.
• High integrity, sound judgement and ability to operate in a regulated environment.
