Head Chef

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and deliver exceptional culinary experiences that align with our restaurant concept and target clientele. You will be responsible for menu development, staff leadership, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and execute food menus that reflect the restaurant’s concept and customer preferences.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth, efficient food preparation and service.
• Lead, supervise and train kitchen staff, assign duties and manage work schedules.
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation and portion control.
• Manage food inventory, including purchasing, receiving, storage and stock control.
• Monitor food costs, minimise waste while preserving product quality.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Develop and standardise recipes and kitchen operating procedures.
• Coordinate closely with restaurant management and front‑of‑house teams during service.
• Monitor kitchen equipment, arrange maintenance or replacement as needed.
• Assist with recruitment, training and staffing requirements for the kitchen.
• Handle customer feedback related to food quality and implement improvements.
• Ensure kitchen operations adhere to company policies and Singapore food safety and workplace regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior kitchen leadership role, preferably within a mid‑scale restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards applicable in Singapore.
• Ability to manage inventory, control costs and minimise waste.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork with front‑of‑house staff.
