Head of Business Development – UAS, Defence & Security (APAC)

About the role

The Head of Business Development Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), Defence and Security APAC will lead an integrated UAS business development team across North Asia, South‑East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The role is responsible for delivering ambitious annual booking and sales targets, managing the sales funnel and providing accurate forecasts while supporting the Airbus Helicopters APAC sales team.

Key responsibilities

• Drive annual sales and booking results, exceeding unit and revenue targets for hardware, services and training packages.
• Actively manage opportunities through the sales funnel, from lead generation to closure, and ensure margin targets are met.
• Gather market intelligence, track competitor strategies and feed insights into product road‑maps and strategic plans.
• Coordinate with Programs and Operations to guarantee aircraft deliveries meet customer expectations and quality standards.
• Lead and mentor a regional sales and marketing team, fostering collaboration with global UAS experts.
• Develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns and sales promotional materials aligned with brand guidelines.

Required profile

• Tertiary education in Aviation, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive sales and marketing experience in the aerospace industry, including drone operations in government or military contexts.
• Proven ability to make strategic decisions under pressure and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Unquestionable integrity handling sensitive military and national‑security information.
• Strong business acumen, patience for long sales cycles, and a proactive, relentless networking approach.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with a global mindset.
