Inside Sales Engineer (1 Year Contract)

About the role

JCI (Johnson Controls) is hiring an Inside Sales Engineer on a 1-year contract. You will act as key point of contact for clients, offering standard and specific solutions, equipment and services to retain customers and maximise conversion rates, working closely with the sales team, customer service, product management and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Answer client queries, give basic technical advice and provide information on new products and modifications
• Build and maintain customer relationships across all levels, coordinate new and repeat sales and follow up every sales opportunity in Salesforce so the pipeline stays up to date
• Handle enquiries, prepare and follow up quotations, and address concerns about technical capability and commercial viability
• Listen to customer requirements, explain or demonstrate cost reductions and operational improvements, and share market intelligence with regional sales colleagues
• Plan and report on sales and business activities, and contribute to decisions with recommendations and options
• Submit orders, coordinate with the sales team and demand planner on forecasts and special pricing, and attend weekly night meetings with the factory on order fulfilment
• Cross-function from the Water Mechanical business unit to the Special Hazard BU, learn about engineered and foam systems, and adopt SAP to analyse cost-benefit ratios of projects, supplies and services
• Identify accounts with growth potential, develop account plans and take part in ad-hoc duties as assigned

Required profile

• Minimum diploma in mechanical or relevant engineering studies preferred
• Project management skills, team leadership and facilitation
• Ability to work independently with a strong "can do" attitude
• Knowledge of import/export regulations
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and enjoyment of talking to people at all levels
