Job Coach

About the role

The Job Coach supports trainees and their caregivers in achieving career goals by guiding them through the job search process, workplace integration, and skill development. The role bridges the gap between trainees, families, and employers to create sustainable employment outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Engage trainees and caregivers to set proactive, self‑determined career objectives.
• Facilitate the job search process, including resume preparation, obtaining parental consent for interviews, arranging interviews, and providing job orientation.
• Identify and source new employers and employment opportunities.
• Coach trainees on‑site to perform required job tasks while developing social, communication, self‑management, and workplace etiquette skills.
• Mentor employers at various hierarchical levels to ensure natural support for trainees in the workplace.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to provide on‑the‑job coaching, demonstrate tasks, help clients adapt to workplace routines, and encourage independence.
• Capability to assess a client’s strengths, abilities, interests, support needs, and employment goals.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with employers and develop suitable employment opportunities.
