Lecturer – Fashion Management & Design

About the role

Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design is seeking a dynamic Lecturer to teach the Diploma in Fashion Management & Design. The role combines classroom teaching with mentorship, guiding students through the full product development cycle and preparing them for careers in fashion merchandising, marketing and entrepreneurship.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and workshops on fashion merchandising, marketing, product strategy, consumer insights and brand positioning.
• Guide students through research, concept development, tech pack creation and final production, both virtual and physical.
• Provide academic and pastoral support, adapting to diverse learning needs and fostering creative confidence.
• Promote interdisciplinary projects that link design with technology, sustainability and communication.
• Collaborate with industry partners and academic peers to keep curriculum current with emerging trends.
• Design and facilitate professional workshops and continuing‑education programmes for working adults.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of industry experience in fashion merchandising, buying or marketing, preferably with a strong record in product strategy and brand positioning.
• Demonstrated ability to translate market trends and consumer insights into commercially viable product assortments.
• Deep understanding of the fashion ecosystem, including local and global market dynamics, retail strategies and digital innovation.
• Experience with contemporary retail and marketing practices such as e‑commerce platforms, digital marketing, brand storytelling and data‑driven decision making.
