Lecturer, Restaurant and Culinary Management

About the role

The School of Hospitality is looking for a Lecturer in Restaurant and Culinary Management. You will develop curriculum and deliver training programmes based on current industry practice, assess students' performance individually and in teams, and support them through coaching and mentoring. You will also take part in research, industry projects and diploma-related events.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and deliver pre-employment training and continuing education curriculum in one or more of the following areas: restaurant development and entrepreneurship, food and beverage management, pastry and baking, food sustainability and food waste management, food science R&D, F&B technology (restaurant digitalisation, data management and analytics), F&B social media management and marketing, and customer journey mapping.
• Deliver training for adult learners in the continuing education space, which may take place after working hours.
• Assess students' performance as individuals and as part of a team.
• Support students through coaching and mentoring.
• Participate in research, industry projects and diploma-related events.
• Handle general administration and procurement.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of relevant industry experience in the areas of expertise listed above.
• Familiarity with the Singapore and regional food and beverage industry.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Advantage: experience developing a curriculum or delivering training in a client-facing environment.

Required skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with people at all levels.
• Good written, communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• A self-starter and agile learner who takes an interest in coaching and mentoring others.
