Maintenance and Facility Manager

About the role

Greif, a global leader in performance packaging, is hiring a Maintenance and Facility Manager. The role ensures optimal functioning of building systems and services, maintaining a safe and productive environment. It covers coordination of space allocation and layout, communication services and facility maintenance, and integrates people, place, process and technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain facility management standards, procedures, policies and manuals, and conduct regular audits for health and safety, building codes and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the facility budget, resources and assets, including maintenance, repairs, renovations and utilities, and implement sustainability initiatives.
• Plan and execute space allocation, expansions and renovations, anticipating future needs such as equipment replacement.
• Oversee maintenance, upgrades and repairs of building infrastructure and keep building systems operational and efficient.
• Maintain and improve facility management software, proposing new tools with measurable return on investment.
• Oversee maintenance of L1, L2 and SMD machinery, and conduct cycle counts and T-card management for spare parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with WSHA regulations, including certification and inspection of air receivers and lifting equipment.
• Coordinate servicing of forklifts, reach trucks and pallet trucks, including breakdowns and contracted suppliers.
• Handle building maintenance such as lighting, roof repairs, shutter doors, air conditioning, plumbing and sanitation.
• Manage procurement requests and preventive maintenance records, and act as main contact for external service providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Management or a related field.
• Proven facility management experience with mechanical systems, building maintenance and staff leadership.
• Ability to integrate technology solutions into facility operations.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Preferred: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or equivalent, prior leadership experience in a complex facility, advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards.
