Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Quest Global is an engineering services provider with over 25 years of experience, focused on delivering innovative consumer‑product solutions. The Mechanical Design Engineer will translate product requirements into practical, manufacturable designs while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and product solutions for consumer products.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout product development.
• Create and review 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack‑ups, and design documentation.
• Build, evaluate, and support prototype components, test rigs, and engineering samples.
• Define and support product verification and validation activities, analyse test data, troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in technical and design reviews and work closely with design, quality, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers and global engineering teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• 3–6 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Experience designing plastic, rubber, metal or mechanical assembly components.
• Strong understanding of DFM and DFA principles.
• Hands‑on experience with prototype builds, testing and design validation.
• Ability to work independently and within fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo).
• 2D engineering drawing creation and GD&T.
• Tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Prototype construction and test rig development.
• Data‑driven troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Knowledge of plastics, rubber, sheet metal, die‑casting and injection moulding processes.
• Familiarity with thermals, acoustics, fluid flow, mechanisms, electronics integration and human‑factors engineering.
