Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will contribute to the development of complex systems, modules and equipment for semiconductor manufacturing and other high‑tech applications. You will work in multidisciplinary teams to design, verify and industrialise mechanical solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute mechanical development work packages from requirements definition through concept, detailed design, verification and release.
• Translate system and subsystem requirements into 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of materials and technical specifications.
• Apply engineering principles in precision mechanics, dynamics, thermal effects, material selection and perform calculations, tolerance analyses and basic simulations.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechatronics, software, project engineering, manufacturing, assembly and supply‑chain teams.
• Support design reviews, prototype integration, testing, validation and qualification activities, incorporating feedback.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues during development, integration and production ramp‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3‑5 years of experience in mechanical design and development within semiconductor, precision engineering or high‑tech equipment industry.
• Experience with precision mechanical assemblies, motion systems, vacuum systems or clean‑environment equipment is an advantage.
• Hands‑on engineering mindset with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Experience with PLM systems like Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with engineering analysis methods including tolerance analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).
