Mechanical Engineer – Automation Equipment (Singapore)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of non‑standard automated equipment in Singapore. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning, ensuring robust and innovative mechanical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of custom automation equipment, including architecture, structures, and mechanisms.
• Create 3D models, simulations, detailed drawings, and design solutions using 2D/3D CAD tools.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and handling mechanisms for specialized automation systems.
• Select and integrate motors, pneumatic and linear motion components, developing overall motion concepts.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as drawings, BOMs, technical specifications, and design standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers and the supply‑chain team for custom part sourcing, fabrication, and manufacturing.
• Support equipment assembly, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Work with cross‑functional teams throughout the development cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on mechanical design experience, preferably in automation or customized machinery.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software and strong mechanical modelling skills.
• Solid understanding of machining, assembly, mechanism design, and structural strength/stiffness.
• Ability to manage complex design projects from concept to implementation independently.
• Experience with non‑standard automation, robotic integration, or material handling systems is highly preferred.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally for training or project activities.
