Metrology Equipment Senior Technician

About the role

Join Soitec’s Metrology/Backend (MTBE) team to work on cutting‑edge semiconductor manufacturing equipment that powers smartphones, cars and connected objects. You will develop deep technical expertise by diagnosing equipment failures, performing root‑cause analysis and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot semiconductor manufacturing equipment and automated material handling systems (AMHS) to ensure high equipment availability, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, keep accurate records and documentation, and follow established SOPs, quality standards, safety requirements and housekeeping practices.
• Support equipment engineers in tool improvement projects, equipment upgrades, process improvements and reliability enhancement initiatives while complying with departmental and corporate policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or Professional Certificate/NiTEC in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and automation systems with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and collaborate effectively across lateral and vertical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with metrology equipment for wafer particle inspection, thickness measurement, cleaning, sorting, packaging and ICP‑MS analysis (advantage).
• Familiarity with AMHS equipment such as stockers and Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT) systems (advantage).
• Compliance with EHS requirements, including chemical hazards, working at heights and maintaining a safe work environment.
