Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

About the role

The Principal Manufacturing Engineer will lead and optimise manufacturing and repair processes for aerospace engine and component overhaul operations in Singapore. You will act as the technical authority for assigned production areas, ensuring that methods meet the highest standards of quality, safety, cost efficiency and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead optimisation of manufacturing and repair processes for aerospace engine/component overhauls.
• Serve as technical authority for production areas, guaranteeing compliance with quality, safety, cost and delivery targets.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues in machining, welding, coating, balancing, inspection and component repair.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC and other operational‑excellence tools.
• Support New Product Introduction, process validation, production readiness and new manufacturing capability implementation.
• Maintain and enhance manufacturing documentation, work instructions, tooling and process standards.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and external suppliers to boost operational performance.
• Assist quality investigations, process capability studies, FAIR, MSA and ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, aircraft engine MRO, precision machining or component‑repair engineering.
• Strong knowledge of machining, welding, coating, inspection or precision‑repair processes.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root‑Cause Analysis and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as NADCAP, FAIR or MSA is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, project‑management and stakeholder‑management abilities.
