Process Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Process Technician to support semiconductor wafer processing in Singapore. The role involves preparing wafers, operating thin‑film reactors, and performing scanning electron microscope analyses to drive productivity and quality in manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare wafers for experimentation, including cleaning and reactor preparation.
• Operate thin‑film process reactors and scanning electron microscopes (SEM) for cross‑section, top‑view, CD, and EDS analyses.
• Prepare cross‑section samples for SEM, optimize sample preparation, and identify patterns of interest.
• Record process conditions, experimental observations, and generate graphs and tables summarizing results.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, flash and plasma cleaning, and coordinate repairs with vendors.
• Monitor wafer in‑process throughput and ensure consistent system performance.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma with 2‑4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work in a clean‑room environment and follow safety protocols.
• Physical capability to lift up to 35 lb and perform extensive standing, walking, and manual tasks.

Required skills

• Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) operation and software alignment.
• Thin‑film reactor operation and process optimization.
• Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) analysis.
• Routine equipment maintenance, including flash and plasma cleaning.
