Procurement Specialist – EPC Projects (China/Angola)

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will act as KBR’s home‑office procurement representative for the multi‑billion‑dollar Lobito Refinery EPC project. Working closely with KBR’s China Project Management team and the owner’s EPC contractor, the role ensures that all procurement activities meet contractual, quality and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee procurement work performed by the EPC contractor’s procurement team.
• Verify compliance with EPC contract specifications, approved vendors, guarantees and warranties.
• Review and analyse the contractor’s Procurement Status Reports and forecast purchase‑order dates.
• Validate material and equipment delivery schedules against the project programme and flag gaps.
• Monitor the contractor’s material control system to track location and status of items from order to field receipt.
• Collaborate with the contractor’s Inspection Manager to define Owner inspection requirements.
• Conduct joint or independent inspections of critical equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with the Owner on Inspection and Test Plans and witness performance testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or 15+ years relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, preferably within EPC projects.
• Fluency in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
