R&D Test Engineer / Senior Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an R&D Test Engineer / Senior Engineer to join our Research & Development team in Singapore. You will work on HDD head and media testing, characterization and performance analysis using Guzik Dynamic Electrical Testing (DET) equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support engineers, technicians and operators to meet department targets.
• Set up, operate, test and troubleshoot Guzik DET machines or equivalent HDD component testing equipment.
• Conduct DET characterization and evaluation of HDD head/media components.
• Analyze test results and investigate relationships between magnetic properties and electrical performance.
• Develop and optimise testing parameters to improve HDD performance.
• Support machine uptime, manpower planning, material planning, inventory control and budgeting.
• Evaluate new machine technologies and prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with other sites to share testing technologies and ensure ISO and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 4 years of relevant engineering/testing experience.
• Hands‑on experience with HDD testing equipment is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Guzik Dynamic Electrical Testing (DET) equipment
• HDD testing equipment or similar component testing systems
• Python programming
• Visual Basic programming
• Statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP or Spotfire
