Regional Tax Manager

About the role

The Regional Tax Manager will lead tax compliance and governance across the Asia region for SJSJ Group, a global urban and infrastructure consulting firm. This senior position ensures accurate filing, manages audits, and supports tax‑related project initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Group’s tax governance framework and internal control processes.
• Maintain accurate and timely corporate tax obligations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.
• Prepare and file tax returns (corporate income tax, GST/VAT, withholding taxes, Pillar 2, etc.) across Asian jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve tax audits, disputes, or inquiries from tax authorities.
• Provide guidance and support to the broader tax team as needed.
• Manage external advisors for BEPS implementation and ensure timely calculations and filings.
• Partner with business units on tax aspects of projects, restructurings, acquisitions, and financing.
• Communicate tax matters promptly to mitigate unexpected risks.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of direct and indirect tax experience in Asia, preferably as an in‑house tax advisor.
• Experience with tax compliance, audits, current and deferred tax accounting, and audit support in Asian countries.
• Strong tax analytical skills, including tax effect accounting.
• Degree in Accounting/Tax and a Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent.
• Demonstrated collaboration, accountability, and leadership with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences.
• Resilient, detail‑oriented, and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Growth mindset and willingness to embrace changes in tax environments.
