Research Assistant (Temp) - Intergenerational Learning Study

About the role

Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) is recruiting a temporary Research Assistant for a study on intergenerational learning in higher education. The study focuses on university instructors teaching age-diverse student populations and how they perceive and facilitate learning across generations, including the opportunities and challenges involved. The RA supports the Principal Investigator and the research team.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe qualitative interview data and review transcripts for accuracy and completeness
• Clean, organise, format and prepare qualitative data for analysis
• Carry out literature searches and reviews on intergenerational learning, higher education, adult learning and related topics
• Organise and manage research literature, references and project documentation
• Help prepare and organise data and research materials
• Carry out other research-related tasks as required by the PI

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, or currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, preferably in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology or a related discipline
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail, especially with qualitative data and transcripts
• Ability to work independently and meet agreed timelines

Required skills

• Systematic literature searching using academic databases
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

The employment period runs from 20 October to 31 December 2026, approximately 2 months.
