Research Associate (Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs)

About the role

The National Institute of Education is hiring a Research Associate on an eight‑month fixed‑term contract within the Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs. The role supports the RS 7/25 LEL project titled “World Englishes and GenAI: Conceptual Issues and Application Possibilities”, an edited volume contracted by Routledge. You will work closely with the Principal Investigator, co‑authors and publishers to advance research and dissemination.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor research project milestones and publication deadlines.
• Organise and participate in special interest group meetings, set research agendas and take minutes.
• Correspond with co‑authors, contributors and the publisher, managing permissions for copyrighted material.
• Prepare, proofread and format manuscript chapters, journal articles, conference papers and presentation slides.
• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews, synthesize findings and draft new sections for the volume.
• Develop data‑management plans and produce progress and final research reports.
• Create indexes, conceptualise book chapters and assist in drafting keynote addresses.
• Handle any administrative duties assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Science, Linguistics, English Language Studies, Education or a related field.
• Organised, meticulous and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, with a high sense of integrity when handling academic materials.
