Securities Finance Tax Advisor

About the role

OCBC is seeking a senior professional to lead the tax analysis function for its Securities Finance and Collateral Management businesses. You will provide expert tax advice on complex securities finance transactions and ensure compliance with global tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead tax analysis for securities lending, repo, equity swaps and collateral management.
• Advise on tax implications of complex securities finance transactions.
• Manage tax risks and ensure compliance with FATCA, CRS, Section 871(m) and other withholding tax obligations.
• Collaborate with tax operations to operationalise documentation and filing requirements.
• Draft, review and negotiate tax provisions in legal agreements such as MSLA, GMSLA, MRA, GMRA and ISDA.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess impact on the securities finance business and communicate updates to leadership.
• Represent OCBC in industry advocacy forums and in tax audits with authorities.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience in tax law focused on securities finance or financial products, or equivalent custodian operations experience.
• Strong understanding of corporate tax, financial products tax and international tax treaties.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proactive communicator with a collaborative mindset.
