Senior Manufacturing Manager

About the role

The Senior Manufacturing Manager leads shop‑floor operations for Coherent product lines, ensuring production output, quality, delivery, cost, safety and people objectives are met. The role combines strong leadership, resource planning and continuous‑improvement initiatives to support product ramp‑up and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing execution, manpower planning, work prioritisation and line readiness for the assigned product line.
• Provide shop‑floor leadership to supervisors, line leads and production teams, fostering accountability, discipline and a high‑performance culture.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning and Program Management to resolve production issues.
• Drive operational excellence through Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 6S, visual management, standard work and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Monitor performance indicators, identify gaps, implement corrective actions and communicate progress and risks.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions, cleanroom protocols, EHS procedures and customer‑specific requirements.
• Support new product introduction, product transfer, ramp‑up and capacity planning.
• Develop team capability through training, coaching, skills assessment and succession planning.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing or production experience, with at least 5 years in a people‑management role.
• Proven experience managing shop‑floor operations and production teams.
