Senior Mechanical Design Engineer & Product Manager – Photonics Test Platforms

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will also act as Product Manager for photonics test platforms used in semiconductor and optical device applications. The role combines system architecture, optical integration, and cross‑functional leadership to deliver high‑volume, high‑performance test solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define system architectures and develop test methodologies for photonics and optical device platforms, including optical I/O, modulators, detectors, ring resonators and interferometers.
• Perform optical link budgeting, system‑level simulations, and allocate performance targets across lasers, drivers, DSP and other subsystems.
• Collaborate with silicon photonics teams on PIC designs (waveguides, MZI, ring resonators, grating couplers) and evaluate coupling techniques.
• Work with electrical engineers on high‑speed drivers, TIAs, EMI, thermal management, packaging and reliability.
• Develop wafer‑level and module‑level test strategies, automation frameworks, data acquisition and validation plans.
• Engage with foundries, OSAT partners, packaging vendors and customers to drive integration and project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Optical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor, photonics, optical systems or precision equipment engineering.
