Senior Process Engineer – RF & Plasma Technologies

About the role

ASM is seeking a senior‑level Process Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of RF and plasma technologies for its semiconductor equipment portfolio. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑performance, reliable solutions that enable next‑generation chips for AI, 5G and autonomous systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise RF modules and reactor solutions for ASM products.
• Design reliable RF structures that maintain stable performance in demanding environments.
• Troubleshoot and support RF generators, matching networks and related hardware.
• Characterise plasma performance and investigate RF‑ and plasma‑related hardware and process issues.
• Develop FPGA‑based control solutions to maximise plasma performance.
• Analyse experimental and system data to identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with RF plasma technologies in research, development or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex technical challenges.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English in a global business environment.

Required skills

• RF systems and plasma generation knowledge.
• Semiconductor process technology expertise (CVD, ALD, PECVD, etc.).
• Troubleshooting of RF hardware, generators and matching networks.
• FPGA programming and control‑application development.
• Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, OrCAD and Altium.
• Experience using MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
