Senior Product Manager, Identity & Authentication

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for a Senior Product Manager for its Identity & User Security team. The team owns onboarding decisioning, identity verification, user authentication, account recovery, roles and permissions and customer notifications. This is a high-ownership role working across Product, Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Security and Data Science, based in Singapore or San Francisco.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve core identity and user security journeys across onboarding, identity verification, user authentication, account recovery, authorization and customer/security notifications.
• Define the product strategy and roadmap for verifying users, granting access, protecting accounts and communicating with customers during high-trust moments.
• Improve customer experience while strengthening trust and risk controls, balancing onboarding conversion, account security, fraud prevention, compliance and operational efficiency.
• Design scalable identity, access and recovery capabilities across customer types, business structures, regions, products and regulatory requirements.
• Shape the customer notification strategy across the user lifecycle, covering timing, channels, action, growth, trust, fatigue, deliverability, cost and abuse.

Required profile

• 6+ years owning complex, scalable platform or B2B products (SaaS, payments, infrastructure) from discovery to rollout, with technical fluency to discuss architecture, APIs and data pipelines with engineering.
• Strong track record in regulated, policy-heavy environments (fintech, banking, security), leading alignment across Engineering, Risk, Compliance and Legal.
• Expert at defining product metrics, running self-serve analyses (SQL/dashboards) and explaining complex technical or risk concepts to engineers and executives.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience building scalable platform capabilities (APIs, SDKs, services) with expertise in IAM, authN/authZ, policy engines or global notification systems.
• Background in fraud prevention, security engineering and account abuse mitigation, such as phishing and SMS pumping.
• Track record shipping features across countries, managing versioning, SLAs and technical documentation at scale.
