Senior Solutions Engineer (Greater China)

About the role

Databricks is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to cover the Greater China region. You will independently lead technical engagements for customers, owning discovery, solution design and platform demonstrations, while building strong frontline technical relationships and working with your Account Executive to grow platform usage.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads in data engineering, analytics and machine learning
• Build and deliver proofs-of-concept and live demos on the Databricks Platform
• Own technical relationships with customer engineers, data teams and technical leads
• Develop account-level technical strategies with the Account Executive to increase platform consumption
• Articulate Databricks differentiation against competitors through hands-on demonstrations
• Share reusable technical assets such as notebooks, solution accelerators and reference architectures with the broader sales community

Required profile

• 4+ years in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales or a hands-on consulting role
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Business proficiency in Mandarin and experience in the Greater China region
• Experience leading technical customer conversations, including discovery, whiteboarding and architecture reviews

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with live coding as a required interview stage
• Hands-on experience designing data solutions on at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Working knowledge of distributed data systems such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Hadoop, Kafka or Flink
• Familiarity with data engineering (ETL/ELT, medallion architecture, streaming), data science/ML (MLOps) or SQL analytics
• Nice to have: Databricks certification, Unity Catalog, Lakeflow or MLflow experience, and a background at a data/AI company, cloud provider or consulting firm
