SME – General Facilities Management (Data Centre)

About the role

The SME General Facilities Management role supports the daily critical operation of a data centre by overseeing all building services and ensuring a high level of customer service for internal and external clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and respond to service requests and 24x7 emergency calls.
• Produce monthly executive reports and maintain data centre system documentation.
• Supervise operation, maintenance and repair of building facilities including plumbing, sanitary, structural work, landscaping, pest control, cleaning, lighting and furniture.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety and environmental policies.
• Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment, troubleshoot issues, recommend upgrades and order parts.
• Manage vendors, contractors, building licences and annual End‑of‑Life reviews.
• Develop and maintain electrical procedures (EOPs, SOPs, MOPs) and oversee technician training programs.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Facilities Management with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in data centre, hospital, pharmaceutical or power‑plant environments is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with design and construction engineers.
• Computer literate for reporting and monitoring operational metrics.
• Proven experience supervising technicians and working in a 24/7 environment.
