Software Engineer – Security Server Applications

About the role

Apple’s Information Systems & Technology organization is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to develop server‑side security applications that protect billions of devices worldwide. You will work on highly scalable, multi‑tenant services that enhance the security features of current and future Apple products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality Java/J2EE server applications using Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, and REST APIs.
• Build micro‑service architectures that support global scale and multi‑tenant isolation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, partners, and project managers to capture requirements and translate them into robust code.
• Integrate security protocols such as PKI, X.509, ASN.1, and key‑exchange mechanisms into the platform.
• Participate in detailed security audits and code reviews to ensure compliance with Apple’s security standards.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of professional experience in Java and J2EE development.
• Strong understanding of security engineering concepts and distributed system design.
• Ability to work independently and within a distributed team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
