Software Engineer – Training Provided

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing environment in Singapore. You will collaborate closely with IT and production teams to maintain critical systems, build automation tools, and enhance digital processes that support day‑to‑day manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the company’s ERP and internal software platforms.
• Develop Python scripts and tools to automate manual tasks, extract data and streamline reporting.
• Work with MS Access and PostgreSQL databases, handling troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
• Support legacy systems while guiding their gradual modernisation.
• Create and maintain utilities for processing CAD/DXF files, including parsing, validation and visualisation.
• Provide production support during system outages and resolve software issues.
• Identify automation opportunities with engineering and production teams.
• Participate in AI/ML projects such as document recognition and production scheduling optimisation.
• Develop dashboards, reports and internal web‑based tools as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with Python programming and automation.
• Familiarity with MS Access, VBA and PostgreSQL.
• Experience working in Linux/Ubuntu environments and basic server administration.
• Exposure to CAD systems or DXF file formats is an advantage.
