Strategic Sourcing Manager (Level 5)

About the role

The Commodity Manager shapes WD’s global supply base through strategic sourcing, supplier leadership, and cost management. The role develops category strategies, secures contracts, and unlocks supplier‑enabled innovation to deliver measurable savings and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global commodity strategies and sourcing roadmaps.
• Lead supplier selection, RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and negotiate long‑term agreements.
• Drive supplier segmentation, quarterly business reviews and corrective action plans.
• Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance and productivity targets.
• Identify and mitigate risks across capacity, supply continuity and compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and R&D for innovation and design‑to‑cost.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement or supplier management.
• Proven experience with global supplier negotiations and strategy development.
• Preferred: MBA or advanced degree and CPSM/CIPS certification.
• Experience managing multi‑site, global procurement programs.
