Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and execution of offshore and marine structures. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and requires travel to fabrication sites in China as well as occasional yard visits in Singapore and the region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review structural design, fabrication, and engineering deliverables.
• Develop structural calculations, material take‑offs and detailed design documentation.
• Create and modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with architectural, HVAC, electrical, telecom and safety disciplines.
• Review vendor drawings and technical submissions for compliance.
• Participate in technical evaluations, bid preparation and cost estimation.
• Identify technical risks and propose practical engineering solutions during tender and execution phases.
• Provide engineering support throughout fabrication, installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with clients, shipyards, EPC contractors and subcontractors on technical matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in offshore living quarters, accommodation modules, FPSOs, offshore platforms or shipbuilding.
• Experience supporting tendering, bid proposals and technical evaluations.
• Willingness to travel to China and attend site visits in Singapore or the region.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to perform structural calculations and material take‑offs.
• Knowledge of structural steel design and fabrication practices.
• Familiarity with offshore and marine engineering standards such as Shell DEP, ADNOC, Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), NORSOK, DNV and ABS.
