Technical Specialist, Laboratory Management

About the role

The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) is seeking a Technical Specialist to support laboratory operations and safety. You will work closely with faculty, researchers and students to ensure a secure, well‑managed environment for additive manufacturing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage laboratory safety and compliance with national and university regulations.
• Oversee regulated and unregulated material inventories, including procurement verification.
• Coordinate with equipment, material and chemical suppliers to meet legal and safety standards.
• Conduct chemical verification and radiation safety checks according to guidelines.
• Support handling of hazardous substances such as metallic powders, chemicals, nanomaterials, and related secondary processes.
• Maintain document control, facilitate information flow, and assist with safety inspections and audits.
• Control office and laboratory access and ensure proper operational procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in a research or laboratory environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Meticulous, proactive, and able to work independently in a dynamic setting.
• Service‑oriented team player with a positive attitude toward learning and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of chemicals, radiation, and hazardous materials management.
