Account Director, Startups (Mandarin-Speaking)

About the role

OpenAI is looking for an experienced Account Director to lead relationships with top startup customers in Singapore. You will help startups build on the OpenAI platform, leveraging APIs, SDKs and technical expertise to accelerate their AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of startup accounts, developing and executing comprehensive account strategies.
• Partner with AI Deployment Engineers to drive successful technical engagements.
• Own consumption and contracted revenue targets while managing forecasts.
• Analyze account metrics, create reports and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate across solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, finance, product management and engineering teams.
• Advocate for improving the startup experience, synthesizing product feedback from engagements.
• Monitor industry and startup landscapes to inform corporate strategy.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and the development of company culture.

Required profile

• 7–12 years of experience selling platform‑as‑a‑service (PaaS), cloud or other API products.
• Background in the startup ecosystem – founder, employee or close partner to startup customers.
• Proven ability to work directly with C‑level executives and startup founders.
• Strong capability to communicate technical concepts to both customers and internal teams.
• Experience gathering and processing complex market intelligence.
• Mandarin‑speaking skill is mandatory.
