Actuarial – IFRS 17 Reporting

About the role

Prudential Singapore is looking for an actuary to join its IFRS 17 reporting team. You will take part in IFRS 17 reporting for the company, supporting the local and regional reporting process, models and tools.

Key responsibilities

• Provide feedback on the review of regional and local technical interpretations of the standards, and review business requirements against technical decisions.
• Support the local development team in improving end-to-end ETL tools for efficiency and analysis.
• Lead and coordinate with local business users on implementing and testing changes to the IFRS 17 reporting process and tools, including source system changes, ETLs, actuarial models and reports.
• Ensure the end-to-end reporting process and controls for actuarial data preparation (Prophet model setup, model points and assumptions) are auditable.
• Coordinate with local and regional stakeholders during the business planning and forecasting cycle to deliver timely, accurate IFRS 17 projections.
• Analyse and explain IFRS 17 results, support business initiatives to improve them, and reconcile IFRS 17 results with other reporting bases.
• Lead internal and external audits on IFRS 17 matters and serve as the main point of contact for auditors.
• Support local and regional initiatives on reporting process re-engineering.

Required profile

• 5 to 10 years of actuarial experience or another analytical role; IFRS 17 experience is an advantage.
• Fellow or student member of a recognised professional actuarial body.
• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Finance.
• English.
• Passion for financial reporting, proactive, detailed-oriented, able to work independently, with strong technical and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Good understanding of insurance products.
• Good working knowledge of Prophet systems and valuation data management programs such as SQL is a plus.
