Administrative Specialist – System & IT (up to $6,000)

About the role

The Administrative Specialist will manage and support the organisation's IT infrastructure, ensuring systems run smoothly and securely. This role combines hands‑on technical work with user support and documentation, working closely with internal IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain physical and virtual servers, operating systems and enterprise applications.
• Perform routine system checks, backups, performance tuning and monitor system health.
• Troubleshoot hardware, network and system issues and provide escalation support.
• Manage user accounts, access rights, group policies and provide technical assistance to end‑users.
• Apply security patches, conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with IT policies.
• Generate reports on system performance, incidents and maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and support configuration‑deployment tools.
• Assist with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization environments and cost optimisation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and internal guides.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of system administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy and basic networking concepts (VPN, firewalls, routing).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, virtualization tools and scripting.
