AI Engineer – DevOps for Data Platform

About the role

AI Singapore (AISG) is seeking an AI Engineer with strong DevOps expertise to join the Data Platform team. Based at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), you will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of the cloud‑based data platform that powers Singapore's national AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day operations of the Data Platform across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), monitoring health, capacity, performance, cost, and security.
• Define and uphold Service Level Objectives (SLOs), alerting policies, and on‑call practices.
• Lead incident response, conduct blameless post‑mortems, and drive preventive actions.
• Operate central data management infrastructure, including pipelines, storage layers, catalogs, access controls, and lineage tooling.
• Implement backup, retention, disaster‑recovery, and data‑residency controls.
• Manage infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform) and maintain CI/CD pipelines, container build/registry workflows, and deployment automation.
• Strengthen observability with logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards, automating repetitive operational tasks.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Cursor) for incident triage, log analysis, runbook generation, and IaC drafting.

Required profile

• Strong background in cloud operations and DevOps engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large‑scale data platforms and ensure high reliability.
• Experience applying AI‑assisted tools to improve operational workflows.
